The Lamborghini museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese

The Collection at the Lamborghini Museum

The Lamborghini Museum, officially known as the Automobili Lamborghini Museum, opened in 2011 and houses an impressive collection of the brand’s most valuable models from past and present. Among them are legendary classics such as the Miura, Diablo, Jalpa, and Countach. In addition to early models from the 1960s, the museum also showcases modern supercars like the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracán, along with the popular Lamborghini Urus, which visitors can admire up close.

The museum features around 20 different models, complemented by display cases filled with scale models and other memorabilia from the iconic Italian supercar brand. Upon entering, visitors are welcomed on the ground floor by some of Lamborghini’s most iconic vehicles, including the 350 GT—the brand’s first production model—and the legendary Miura, widely regarded as the world’s first true supercar of the 1960s. Also on display are the first-generation Countach and the LM002 off-road vehicle. The Lamborghini LM002, often considered the predecessor of the modern Urus, was the brand’s first production SUV, featuring the iconic raging bull emblem.

The First Floor: Modern Icons and Exclusive Models

On the first floor, visitors can admire Lamborghini’s more modern models from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, including the Murciélago SV and Aventador SVJ. Additionally, the floor showcases a variety of other iconic cars, such as the Countach, which introduced Lamborghini’s signature futuristic and angular design language in the 1970s and 1980s. The Diablo, the first Lamborghini to surpass a top speed of 320 km/h, also holds a prominent place in the museum.

Since the collection frequently changes, each visit brings a surprise as to which models are on display. Alongside current production models, the museum features a selection of rare prototypes and one-off creations. Among these are the unique Sesto Elemento and the stunning concept version of the “modern” Miura. Other ultra-exclusive models, such as the Veneno, Centenario, Sián FKP 37, and the new Countach LPI 800-4—unveiled in 2021—stand side by side, as if they were ordinary cars. However, each of these masterpieces is worth millions, with some existing in only a handful of units worldwide.

Interactive Experiences and Factory Tour

Beyond admiring Lamborghini’s extraordinary collection, visitors can engage in interactive experiences at the museum. One highlight is the Lamborghini simulator, which allows you to get behind the wheel—virtually—and feel the thrill of racing one of these high-performance machines on a track.

For those who want to dive even deeper into the world of Lamborghini, the museum offers an exclusive factory tour. This behind-the-scenes experience grants access to the production lines of the Huracán and Aventador, where skilled artisans meticulously assemble these dream cars with precision and passion. Visit the Lamborghini factory in Italy

Visiting the Lamborghini Factory

Haven’t had your fill of Lamborghinis after exploring the museum? You also have the opportunity to visit the Lamborghini factory for an additional fee, in combination with a museum visit. Conveniently located right next to the museum, the Lamborghini Factory Tour offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how these legendary supercars are built.

The factory tour must be booked in advance through Lamborghini’s official website and is only available during specific periods throughout the year. Availability is subject to change, as factory renovations or visits from special guests and clients may sometimes lead to temporary closures. Since there are only a limited number of spots available per tour, it’s highly recommended to book well in advance. The Lamborghini factory tour often sells out months ahead of time, especially during peak holiday seasons.

Spotting Lamborghinis Around the Museum

Dreaming of seeing the latest Lamborghinis in action on public roads? A visit to the Lamborghini factory is a must. If you spend some time near the factory gates, you’ll frequently spot brand-new Lamborghinis driving by, as every car undergoes a test drive on public roads before being delivered to its owner. The best place to witness this spectacle is Gate 4 – Porta Sud, easily recognizable by the large “Porta Sud” sign above the entrance. This exit is located on the opposite side of the factory, just a three-minute drive from the museum’s main entrance. Here, Lamborghinis roll out of the factory for their final test drives on public roads.

Feeling lucky? You might even catch a glimpse of an unreleased prototype! These test vehicles are often wrapped in camouflage or black tape to conceal their design. For true enthusiasts, there’s an extra challenge. Park nearby and follow the Lamborghinis as they leave the factory gates. Just be prepared to hit the gas if you want to keep up!

Want to see even more Lamborghinis? Drive along Via Modena toward the village center. On the right-hand side, you’ll find a gas station where Lamborghinis are often parked or washed at the adjacent car wash. It’s another great spot to admire these incredible supercars up close.
